Album DescriptionCurrent Biography • Liner Notes

A well selected mix of hits from the early jamming in 1995 up till now. A rough rude & nasty mix of B-sides and more.

Another Swedish band, who describe themselves as “Specials” rocking out with “Rocket From The Crypt”. Their influences are blatantly obvious, as they started in ’94 playing covers from “Madness” and “The Beat”. Following a deal with Burning Heart Records, they quickly became one of Europe’s best known, new Ska acts.
This new album contains 9 EP tracks, a smattering of B-sides and some unreleased material. It’s great fun, as they don’t take themselves at all seriously. If you’re into Ska, you’ll love this album as these guys can play their instruments real good, and have a great, fresh sound. Most interesting is their choice to blend different musical genres with the Ska sound to give a more balanced, less repetitive output.
Stand out tracks, “Youth of today” and “The world’s finest war” demonstrate Liberator’s incredible vocal and musical talent.
Highly recommended, LIB ON!!!

Metal Hammer 7/10

A GROUP wearing black suits, white shirts and black ties – you’ll never guess what sort of music they play! Yep, they’re a ska band. Somewhere between Madness (Baggy Trousers era), The Specials and ‘Bad Manners (they even cover ‘Lorraine’), only from Malmo in Sweden. They even cover Swedish pop favourites Abba’s ‘Does Your Mother Know’ (which is actually pretty good). This album is a collection of EP tracks, B-sides and unreleased material recorded since their formation in ’94. In essence, Liberator are a good time band with a killer brass section, but in sticking to the 80s ska format so religiously, a lack of originality might be their downfall. Nostalgia could be their salvation.   Read Full Review >>
