1. The who, why, where and how
1.1 Burning Heart Records biography
Since the start in 1993 over 200 titles can be found in the Burning Heart Records catalogue, including essentials as Millencolin's "Life On A Plate", "Pennybridge Pioneers" and "Home From Home", The Hives "Veni Vidi Vicious", Looptroop´s "The Struggle Continues", Refused's "The Shape Of Punk To Come, The (International) Noise Conspiracy's "A New Morning, Changing Weather", Turbonegro's "Scandinavian Leather" to name a few.
Burning Heart Records have become one of Europe's most exiting independent label launching successful careers for bands as Millencolin, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Turbonegro, The Hives And Refused (RIP) that's one of the most respected hardcore/new-noise bands ever around the globe.
What Burning Heart is about is strength thru diversity with music ranging from melodic punk to the meanest & hardest hardcore imaginable, to progressive new noise terrorism, rock'n'roll, danceable ska & rock steady rhythms, soul filled alternative pop to straight and honest punk and whatever that can be found in between. All this presented with a burning ambition to release the best an alternative world can offer.

1.4 Can I work for you?
We’re sorry but Burning Heart has no open positions currently.
1.5 Can I do my trainee period at your company?
If you are in school and want to do your trainee-period at BHR, we ask you to do the following:
Please check out how you will get paid during your trainee-period. You won´t get paid by us. Check with your school or whatever administration you go through, and solve that first.
Check everything you need to in terms of economy (for food, for living etc) yourself. If you got that going, send us an email including information about who you are, when you want to come to us, for how long, what you are interested in etc.
Our promotion department always need a helping hand: We got tons of press clips to sort, even more tons of promo material to receive/unpack/sort/pack/send out, and help out type reports, email-lists etc. To be honest, not the most fun job in the world, but still a chance to see a record label from the inside.
2. Demos
2.1 Do you accept demos?
Yes we do*, but only in CD format sent to this adress:
Burning Heart Records
Att: A&R
Box441, 70148 Örebro, Sweden.
* Please don't send us digital files (MP3's etc), myspace profiles or links to files since we don't have time to download files or listen online (also the quality usually sucks.)
We try to listen to every demo we get, even though it takes us some time. After sending us your demo, please don’t contact us back to make sure we got it or to get feedback from us: we simply don’t have time to answer. You'll only hear back from us if we are interested.
2.2 What is your demo-policy?
Demos are important, but it’s very seldom we pick up a band by just hearing a demo. Usually we pay more importance to seeing bands live, reading or hearing good shit about ‘em from friends, other bands etc.
Keep them coming though, sending them definitely serves a purpose as we file the demos and can pick them up from the file and give the stuff another listen.
see 2.1 for how to provide material.
3. Touring & Booking
3.1 Where can I find information about tour dates of BHR-bands?
In the Tours section you'll find all the current tourdates. Always check with you local promotor or venue to get the dates confirmed. All dates published on this page are confirmed by the bands own booking agency’s (found in the right sidebar under "Other Info" on the band pages).

We don´t sell any tickets, please contact the booking agency´s (see 3.1), or the venues directly.

4. Press
4.1 I have a magazine/zine/web site/Radio-show. Will you send me promo CDs?
Maybe. Contact us and include all the info we need to get you in our system (media name, country, info, style of music, phone, email, etc.) and we’ll see what we can do.
If you get on our mailinglist, you will stay there as long as you stay in touch with us and let us know that you do write about or bands and releases.
Please send clips to: Burning Heart Records, Att: Promodep, Box 441, 701 48 Örebro Sweden, or links/playlists to us by e-mail.
We also might re-direct your request to our local publicists in the mainland of Europe if we have such in the country you are living in.

Under Presskits you’ll find a band biography and photos free to publish (please though state the photographers name), and download instructions.
4.3 I would like to interview ..., can that be arranged?
If the bands schedule allows it, sure, contact us and we'll work something out.
5. Website
5.1 How do I download free songs (MP3's) and listen to them on my computer?
This site uses MP3 audio exclusively because it's playable on every platform with many different full-featured and freely available players such as Media Monkey and iTunes.
You can find MP3's for download in a variety of sections. Each album have at least one or two MP3's available for download, and then you can find MP3's in Related Links (on News pages), in the New Releases sections, etc.
To download, you can do either of two things: (1) left-click on the MP3 icon ( )or 'Download MP3' link, and the MP3 will open and stream in a separate browser window (or in your musicplayer); (2) right-click on the MP3 icon or 'Download MP3' link, and click 'Save Target As..." in the menu, and save the MP3 to your system.
5.2 How do I view the videos?
All videos on this site are currently in realmedia format, for a free codec enter free-codecs.com who's offering alternative codecs for Windows capable of playing Real media files without the Real player.
If you stuck on another platform (ie Mac/Linux) or want the RealOne Player on your machine, then download the "Free RealOne Player". Install and select NO for almost every option except the very basics. You only need the most basic RealOne Player to do most anything you would need to do on this site or any other.
5.3 Can I link to your site from my site?
Sure, but please don't hotlink directly to mp3 files or videos on our server, link to the originating page instead.
6. Other
6.1 Can I join the Burning Heart Street Team?
We currently have an European Street Team that you can try to join. If you want to hang around at shows and hand out flyers, putting up posters etc., and in return get some free exclusive BHR stuff once in a while, please fill out this form. We can’t answer you all, so if you don’t get any reply we thank you for your offer but for one or another reason we won’t use your services. Thanks anyway!
6.2 Can I come by and visit the studio?
No, we don’t have a studio and never had.
6.3 How can I get permission to use a song by a Burning Heart artist in my project?
Please contact us, and describe the following:
-What kind of project it is.
-How will the music be used? On a video, on a CD, as background music?
-If you are doing copies of a video or CD with the music on, how many copies will be done?
6.4 Can I buy records / merchandise directly from you?
Our webstore is closed for the time being, we don't know when or if we'll be up and running again.
Meanwhile, check out trashmark.com for BHR merchandise or hotstuff.se for some of the hard-to-find BHR releases (both ship worldwide).
6.5 I can't find your titles in my local record shop, what do I do?
6.6 Was the re-release of "The Shape Of Punk To Come" remastered?
The BHR re-release was not remastered, but repackaged and released as a digipack in Europe.
However, it was completely remastered to 6 channels (5.1) by ex-members of Refused and released as a DVD Audio in USA by Epitaph Records. (Available to order online at epitaph.com when they have their shop online again)
Ok, but can I listen to a DVD Audio in my cd player?
Unfortunately, a DVD Audio disc is NOT playable on a CD player, in order to use all 6 channels you'll need a DVD Audio compatible DVD player, and ofcourse also a 5.1 amplifier and speaker system.
6.7 Can you give me the contact adress for the band/artist ...?
Our policy is to not give out any personal contact information about our bands/artists unless they have officially stated that they want to be contacted (through their album linernotes, website etc.).
6.8 Can you provide me the lyrics/tabs for the song ...?
Please check the album booklets or the artists websites. If it's not there we don't have it either.
